Spacious unit with a good layout for cooking and lounging. The cleanliness was excellent, and the refrigerator stocked with milk made settling in much easier.
The shower handle was outdated with slow water flow, and the heating could have been better as there were no heat pumps in the room. An expected level of bathroom consumables was missing, leading to a sense of being under-equipped for the price. Road noise was noticeable in some rooms, which could disrupt sleep. While it had its charm, some areas felt dated considering the price.

Location: the hotel was so close to Russell ferry, and a selection of bars. I tried some drinks at bar Legends Restaurant, located 10 minutes walk away. The room was recently refurbished and the facilities included a well appointed kitchenette and a lounge area.

The rooms were very clean and neat, and well supplied with towls, crockery etc.
It was a very basic and dated room.

The room was very spacious and clean.
The room was very old. For the money there were things missing like, sky television, an iron in your room. The pool was not really in a fit state to use and even though a view was mentioned our family room looked out towards the car park. We only stayed two nights of our three nights booked as I could not watch the rugby as there was no sky tv. We ended up staying at another motel that was a similar price was brand new with everything we needed with a view of the bay. I will not be recommending this motel to anybody.

Accommodation was comfortable, clean and functional. The appartment was well equipped and better than many I have stayed in.
Hotel was not on the seafront (about 100 yards away) and rooms did not have a sea view.

We booked a Two-Bedroom Apartment for a quick family getaway to explore the nearby attractions. The kitchen was nicely laid out, allowing us to whip up some meals, and it was right on the main road, yet surprisingly quiet at night, which made our stay more relaxing. The kids enjoyed having a grass area outside where they could play between our two rooms, adding a nice touch to our family time.

Free, genuinely high-speed wi-fi (tested as 12Mbps download), despite its being advertised as attracting an extra charge. - Apparently, this charge applies only to customers staying for just one night. As I was staying for ten, I got it free but two nights would have been sufficient. Very friendly and helpful staff and, being a husband and wife joint venture, you always got to talk with the top person! The staff advised upon and arranged all my excursions and cruises whilst I was in Paihia.
The fast, free wi-fi came in bundles of 50Mb, after which you had to "begin again" with a new access code. So was fine for surfing the net and email, but not so good for applications such as Skype or speedtest.net which gobble up the megabytes.

Good location right near to the beach, decent size and well equiped room. Pretty decent budget accomodation.
The cleanliness was only let down by a couple of pubic hairs on the towels. The room is quite bright with outside lights staying on all night. We understand the need for security but the glass doors have no blinds or curtains. The bed was uncomfortable.

The beds and bedding were especially comfortable and ensured a good night's sleep.
The bathroom could use some refurbishment to match the expected quality of a 4-star rating.
